AWTG

AWTG is an end-to-end engineering services and technology solutions provider operating in Telecommunications, Immersive Tourism, Smart Education, Smart Cities, Smart Retail and Shopping, Industry 4.0, Smart Health, New Media, Internet and other markets that employ digital technologies. Celona

Based in the heart of Silicon Valley, Celona is credited with developing the industry’s fully turnkey 5G LAN solution for the enterprise. By leveraging the new shared cellular spectrum being made available worldwide, Celona’s 5G LAN system, for the first time, allows companies to own and operate their own mobile network infrastructure. South of Scotland Enterprise

South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) is the one-stop shop for businesses and enterprising communities throughout Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders. They help people and enterprises in the South to thrive, grow, and fulfil their best potential. Every enterprise is different, and SOSE support is tailored to each stage and situation. Their services can include training, advice, specialist expertise, and funding.

The Crichton Trust

The Crichton wants to empower and enable a new cross-generational, business, academic and individual knowledge exchange community that shapes the ‘Future Economy’. They will be doing this primarily via the enterprising custodianship of The Crichton, creating a world-renowned home and destination for innovation; a place for people to cohabit and share ideas – all inspired by The Crichton’s extraordinary history, places and spaces. Behind the estate is The Crichton Trust where our S5GConnect Dumfries hub is based, is an innovative social enterprise leading The Crichton through its next exciting phase of development.

Scottish Futures Trust

Scottish Futures Trust is a non-profit organisation and was established by Scottish Government as a Centre of infrastructure expertise, they take a leadership role, providing additional skills, resources and knowledge to public sector organisations, supporting them plan, fund, deliver and manage their construction projects and buildings better. The strength of the organisation lies in bringing together a mix of skillsets, we have a diverse range of professionals from architects, surveyors to telecoms specialists, economists, and engineers, all of whom innovate and deliver significant infrastructure programmes across Scotland.

ScottishPower

Across all business areas, ScottishPower is working to deliver a low carbon and sustainable future. They are the leaders in smart and renewable energy and have partnered with The HALO on their groundbreaking Urban Regeneration innovation project. The energy company will be a leader in The HALO’s Innovation and Enterprise Centre and its Digital and Cyber Zone where they will create a cyber and digital training and learning facility. It’s focus will be on young people, digital skills, energy innovations and development of decarbonised transport, heat and energy sector.

 

 

Highlands and Islands Enterprise

Highlands and Islands Enterprise are the economic and community development agency for the north and west of Scotland, building a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable economy across the Highlands and Islands, attracting more people to: live, work, study, invest and visit. Covering more than half of Scotland’s land mass from Shetland in the north to the southern tip of Argyll and including almost 100 inhabited islands, HIE has four priorities: accelerating business growth, strengthening communities and fragile areas, developing growth sectors, particularly distinctive regional opportunities and developing regional attractiveness.

The HALO Urban Regeneration Company

The HALO is a net-zero carbon, mixed-use development providing its residents and the wider community with access to employment opportunities, clean energy and housing. Situated on a 23-acre brownfield site, HALO will generate £205 million and will stimulate 1,500 jobs, giving its commercial and residential tenants a site to ‘Live, Work, Learn and Play’. The focal point of HALO is the Enterprise & Innovation Centre, where our S5GConnect HALO Kilmarnock hub is based, which stimulates digital learning, and provides a conducive environment for digital, manufacturing and cyber businesses of all sizes.

Our Academic Partners 

Abertay University

Abertay University have created a £18 million hub for cybersecurity research and digital innovation and have called it Abertay cyberQuarter. Our S5GConnect Dundee hub is based within the new state-of-the-art facilities. The facilities allow for collaboration and experimentation between industry and academia, creating new solutions to local, national and international cybersecurity and digital challenges. Abertay cyberQuarter, aims to bring inclusive economic growth to the area by supporting the expansion of existing companies and helping new ones to succeed.

 

University of Stirling

The University of Stirling’s, Scotland’s International Environment Centre (SIEC) is a pioneering collaboration that will create an ‘innovation community’ in the Forth Valley, driving the creation of a net zero regional economy and acting as a global exemplar of low-carbon growth. Through innovation and their partnerships with ourselves, SIEC will deliver transformational change in sustainable business practice, positioning the protection and enhancement of our natural resources as an enabler of economic prosperity, wellbeing, and a just transition to a net zero future.

University of Glasgow

The University of Glasgow’s Communication, Sensing and Imaging (CSI) team are currently developing a 5G-enabled Smart Campus offering sustainable, healthier and smart solutions to students, academics and the surrounding community which is already attracting investment into the area, creating new jobs and leading the way for future smart cities while contributing to Glasgow’s carbon neutral commitment by 2030. The team have researched and developed effective 5G solutions including a Persuasive Energy Conscious Network and tele-operational robotic arm.

University of Strathclyde

The University of Strathclyde is part of Glasgow City Innovation District, a hub for entrepreneurship, innovation, and collaboration. The University of Strathclyde’s StrathSDR team develop cost effective connectivity solutions for remote and rural areas and outside broadcasting, using 5G radio access networks. The team have developed a portable custom private 5G pop-up network solution, bringing new opportunities to rural communities throughout Scotland and supporting a range of industries and services including energy management, fishing and tourism.

Scotland’s Rural College

Scotland’s Rural College is a public research institution focused on agriculture and life sciences existing to deliver comprehensive skills, education and business support to Scotland’s land-based industries. Focusing on the sustainable natural economy, SRUC will strive to lead the way in delivering economic, social and environmental benefits for all, in Scotland, and beyond. The SRUC is unique in Scotland and the largest organisation of its kind in Europe.

Dundee City Council

Dundee City Council offers a wide range of information and services to residents and business in Dundee, a creative and dynamic city in the North East of Scotland. Dundee City Council led on the installation of 5G technology at Dundee Central Waterfront and partners with Angus, Fife and Perth & Kinross Councils to create smarter and fairer cities as part of the Tay Cities Region Deal. Supported by the UK and Scottish Governments, Tay5G is a £2 million Tay Cities Deal project aiming to deliver 5G mobile connectivity use case trials across advanced communications, IoT and automation.

Clackmannanshire Council

Clackmannanshire Council is a Local Authority based in Central Scotland contributing approximately £3.3 billion to the UK economy. Clackmannanshire Council collaborate with The Scotland 5G Centre’s Forth Valley hub and its partner’s University of Stirling. Clackmannanshire Council is part of the Stirling and Clackmannanshire City Region Deal driving innovation and inclusive economic growth in the area over 10 years.
